In the summer of 2014, we had the exterior of our house painted with some updated colors. Our goal was to maintain the classic “look” for our old house, but to introduce some color so that the details of the trim, columns, etc. would stand out a little more.
Before:
We spent quite a bit of time and effort picking paint colors for the house. After much debate, we finally selected Benjamin Moore Classic Gray (OC-23) for the siding and the Sherwin Williams match for Andersen Sandtone for the trim (so that any maintenance free details we might add in the future would blend right in).
The “After” pictures:
Along with exterior paint, we also tackled a variety of other, related projects:
- Buried electrical, cable & phone service to the house
- Installed 2 new sets of patio doors
- Removed all coax & phone wiring from the outside of the house
- Rebuilt a rotting railing on the roof above the back door
- Installed new rubber roofs on the front and back porches
- Removed a picket fence that was used as a trash can enclosure
- Installed new composite window boxes
